If you thought terrorists are our biggest threat, this appears to be much worse!
This documentary looks like the PG&E (Pacific Gas & Electric) case in the US on which the film Erin Brockovich was based, but this threat is GLOBAL! Have you heard of Roundup weed killer? Please read on…
Based on a painstaking investigation, this documentary pieces together the story of Monsanto, a century-old corporation with a controversial past and today’s leader in genetically modified crops. Monsanto claims it wants to solve world hunger and protect the environment, but its quest for market supremacy is to the detriment of global food security and environmental stability.

You can watch the full documentary here: The World According to Monsanto. Thank you to Connie and my team for finding this.
Look at this from Greenpeace’s website:
The big picture is chilling to anyone who mistrusts Monsanto’s record disinterest for environmental safety.
And if you’re not worried, you should be: central control of food supply has been a standard ingredient for social and political control throughout history. By creating a monopoly position, Monsanto can force dangerous experiments like the release of GMOs into the environment on an unwilling public. They can ensure that GMOs will be sold and consumed wherever they say they will.
By claiming global monopoly patent rights throughout the entire food chain, Monsanto seeks to make farmers and food producers, and ultimately consumers, entirely dependent and reliant on one single corporate entity for a basic human need. It’s the same dependence that Russian peasants had on the Soviet Government following the Russian revolution. The same dependence that French peasants had on Feudal kings during the middle ages. But control of a significant proportion of the global food supply by a single corporation would be unprecedented in human history.
It’s time to ensure that doesn’t happen.
It’s time for a global ban of patents on seeds and farm animals.
It’s time to tell Monsanto we’ve had enough of this hogwash.— Brian Thomas Fitzgerald, Monsanto Pig Patent
From watching the documentary, if you are at all concerned about anyone you love’s health and what this company appears to be doing, then please forward this post’s link on to them or search Google for “world according to Monsanto” or “Monsanto GMO” for more information.
Let’s hope Monsanto is not as evil as it appears to be in this documentary, because if it is, we as a species are in deep ….
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.” Edmund Burke.

Another awesome post by Babis!
Thank you for putting out the awareness for this very **** company. People should watch the movie .. “FOOD, INC.” to hear how this company is destroying the lives of farmers everywhere, while genetically engineering and altering our food sources.
How does a single company achieve receiving a patent and monopoly for SEEDS?!?! Please Google “Monsanto patent” to learn more about this company. People will be shocked at what they read.
Thank you Babis!
Thanks Koukla but you led me to it so credit to you. What else could the answer to your question be other than money, greed and corruption?
I will watch the whole documentary now. I hope other people take it seriously as well.
Wow – I’m almost speechless.
Over the last couple of days we’ve been talking about Monsanto and their apparent global domination of the seed industry, but after watching the full 1 hour 48 minute documentary it appears far bigger than just that – and that they’ve been doing it for decades already.
I almost think (and Monsanto are probably revelling in this fact) that it’s too late to try to do anything now that the world’s food production is mostly due to the cultivation of food plants from Monsanto’s seeds. Should we boycott them and not buy their seeds, the world would probably die of hunger.
Terrorists, bombs and weapons – it appears that those should be way lower down on our list of concerns, the real enemy out there appears to be Monsanto (oh and it probably didn’t hurt all these government agencies coming to the aid of Monsanto either, through FDA approvals and the like).
@Deems, this is very scary isn’t it? It appears that this company shows utter contempt for people with the sole aim of holding the world to ransom. Poorer people the world over appear to be their guinea pigs, and especially in those poor areas in the US where people appear to be expendable. It appears to be truly evil and disgusting!
Great review Sweetie (as always)!
This topic and a solution is extremely complex, as you have pointed out what the result of a boycott of Monsanto would produce. We do not have an option for choice since this company has global domination. I don’t know what the answer is but awareness is key.
For those interested in watching the full-length movie online .. here is the direct link:

Also, please watch the movie .. FOOD, INC. Both these movies will help raise the much needed awareness of what corrupt corporations are doing to our food supply and the health of our children and future generations.
Indeed, as the saying goes: Forewarned is forearmed.
I just clicked on your updated link for the GreenPeace story regarding the pig patent and Monsanto’s quest to take over the world in every aspect of our lives.
WOW! This company must be stopped. They are getting everything they want because Monsanto employees are being placed in high government positions and, therefore, able to grant the company their every wish and approve patents.
Babis .. please keep up your wonderful work.
Per Babis’ request may I let some of you know some helpful information.
Throughout my 14 years of agricultural experience I have come to learn what this corporation is all about. He wanted me to tell all of you about heirloom seeds. Heirloom seeds simply means a seed that has come from a non-genetically altered source. It hasn’t been “sugar enhanced”, inserted with Bacillus Thurengensis (BT), inserted with resistance to Glyphosate (Roundup), cross-bred in a way other than natural pollination, and it has been proven to be from a source that is consistantly the same variety. Heirloom seeds are getting difficult to find, but companies such as Burpee, American seeds, Victory seeds, and any other seed listed as “certified organic” are safe. Many packets of seeds will claim that it is an heirloom seed as well. Of course, once you have purchased and grown the produce, you can keep seeds from the harvested food and continue to re-use the genetic line from that variety. Take your desired seeds from the “superior” plants. The ones that grew the biggest, tastiest, produced the most, or whatever attribute that you consider important to you. After a few years, you will have nothing but top quality seeds from right out of your garden, and lo and behold… YOU have your own heirloom seeds that is your own! This is how non-corporate farmers have been doing it for generations. I do not recommend taking any seed from a fruit or vegetable that you have purchased from a grocery store, unless it has been labled certified organic!
Thank you and best of luck to you all! Happy gardening!

@Rachel
Thank you so much! I found Rachel on the “Millions Against Monsanto” group on Facebook and asked her to explain Heirloom Seeds as she has kindly done. All the more reason to grow your own fruit and veg in the UK as well. If you have not joined the “Millions Against Monsanto” group on Facebook please do so, it is in your best “healthy” interests to do so.
Rachel … thank you for the great comment and information on Heirloom seeds and the companies offering them. I will definitely be visiting your Facebook page .. Millions Against Monsanto! THANK YOU!
Have a look at stuff on BT Cotton and BT Aubergines, the reports on that stuff are very troubling as well.
Cheers mate , will do. It is all very scary stuff isn’t it? I just planted my tomato seeds today in my heated propagators in my garage – organic! I am looking forward to another bumper crop of tomatoes. If you want any plants just let me know as I am sure to have loads!
